Beautiful Communion Dress Basic yoke dress pattern Spoke the yoke with lace before I cut out the pattern
pieces. Used ecru silk organza for the sleeves. Attached a beautiful English net insertion to the bottom of
yoke before attaching the skirt. Skirt was also spoke, with a band of the same insertion.
Then fished with a slightly ruffled English net to match.

Dress is the
sleeveless version of "Jane Ann "with it's double collar feature.
Jane Ann is a discontinued Pattern by Children's Corner, Libby is a good
substitute. Add a peter pan collar from another Children's Corner
Pattern. E-mail us and we can give more directions if needed.
The dress fabric is yellow
poppies by Hoffman of California. The collar fabrics are white fine wale
pique and shades of ivy/white background. The pique collar is piped in
moss whipped piping and trimmed on top with yellow silk flowers. The
contrasting ivy print was used for the narrow belt ties. The ties are
inserted in pleats on the front of the bodice and ties in the back.
The dress buttons in the back, each button was covered in the
contrasting ivy print.
This dress also features
fun deep side pockets. The top of the pockets are banded with the
contrasting ivy fabric piped in the moss green piping and trimmed again
with the silk ribbon trim. The project I am most proud of!!!! I
have been working on this gown for about two months. It is made of ecru
silk organza and French Maline lace. It looks like it is so old. The slip is
embroidered in ecru with three interlocked hearts and Taley's name. The
idea is to add other names as it is passed down through a family. I better
not have too many grandchildren as I don't know if I could repeat this
smocking project. Sandy Stern is one of our
internet customers, what a beautiful job she has done!! Thank you Sandy for sharing this with
us, I love our silk organza. Another
